Michigan oil spill: How far will it go?

R.J. Peterson jokes to customers about bringing oil-dissolving dishwashing soap when they visit Saugatuck this weekend.

But the owner of Tower Marine doesn't believe anyone in this resort town -- now preparing for the throngs expected for the annual Venetian Festival this weekend -- should worry about the chance of a massive Kalamazoo River oil spill making it to Lake Michigan.

"It'll never reach here," Peterson said confidently.
