Here’s a comparison you don’t want made anywhere in your state: It’s like BP.
Yet a massive oil spill spreading on the Kalamazoo River — and threatening to belch into Lake Michigan — has naturally invited parallels to the Gulf Coast. As with the crude crisis down south, the same main rule ought to apply here: Those who made the mess should be responsible for cleaning up every last drop of it, and compensating anyone harmed.
